We understand that there can be anxiety when thinking about your first vein treatment appointment. That's why we've detailed exactly what to expect.
Whether you prefer to read or watch or both, here's what you should know about your first appointment.
Why Do You Begin With a Medical Consultation?
Although the answer to this question may seem straightforward, beginning with a medical consultation is extremely important. It allows us to learn more about you, your medical history, and if vein treatment is necessary.
What Do I Need To Bring To My Medical Consultation?
You are not expected to bring anything besides yourself and an open mindset. It is recommended that when you come in for your consultation that you:
Are well hydrated
Have not worn compression socks in the past 1 - 2 days (if possible)
Avoid caffeine
Try to make an appointment later in the day
What Are the Steps Involved in My Medical Consultation?
You will head into your office of choice (our Troy location is featured in the video) and be greeted by our friendly front desk staff.
Our front desk staff will check you in and you can take a seat in our relaxing lobby area.
Once we are ready for you, one of our team members will call you back.
The team member will ask you about you and your family's medical history. They will then perform an ultrasound and physical exam that'll help them determine if you need vein treatment.
Once the ultrasound is completed, you will meet with your physician. At our Troy location, you will meet with Dr. Bannon.
Dr. Bannon will inform you of your ultrasound and physical exam results, if you have a venous-related disorder (or something else), and if you will need a treatment plan. This time will also be used for you to ask questions, if any.
Once your meeting with Dr. Bannon is completed, you will meet with our front desk staff to schedule your first vein treatment appointment. If you do not need vein treatment, you may receive a referral or you are free to leave.
Congratulations! You successfully completed your medical consultation. If you scheduled, we look forward to seeing you soon and helping you on your treatment journey.
