Once a year, at our holiday party, we recognize the one team member who has gone above and beyond that standard. This year, we are thrilled to honor Laura Hill as the recipient of our Going the Extra Mile Award.
What Is the Going the Extra Mile Award?
The Going the Extra Mile Award is meaningful at Miller Vein because it comes directly from our team. Each year, team members submit nominations for a colleague who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication, compassion, and service to both patients, Miller Vein, and the community. The winner is announced at our annual holiday party, where the winner can be properly recognized.
Meet Laura Hill
If you've had the pleasure of crossing paths with Laura, you already know why she was nominated. Laura brings a combination of warmth, professionalism, and genuine care to everyone and everything she does. Her impact is not felt just by patients, but by her teammates.
Laura has an ability for making patients feel seen, heard, and at ease. Her interactions with patients are remembered with kindness and patience
But Laura's commitment to her patients doesn't stop when she leaves the clinic.
She has personally delivered a patient's medication in snowy conditions simply because the patient had no transportation. She drove a patient to the grocery store and the post office when they had no other way to get there. These aren't required in the job description but something Laura did nonetheless.
Beyond her compassion, Laura keep things running smoothly behind the scenes. Her organizational skills and attention to detail make the entire team better. She is a trusted, reliable presence and an active contributor at Miller Vein.
